I am Ramy Kotb. I am the national winner of Egypt in 2012 and i represented Egypt at the Cheltenham Science Festival. I am an electrical engineer from Alexandria University in Egypt. I always had passion about science and how to make it more like an interesting story that can take us in other directions. I had unforgetable experience in FameLab and I will always remember it as one of the greatest periods in my life :) .

I have lived in Alexandria , but I moved to Cairo recently where I joined Faculty of Pharmacy.I find topics related to cancer and neuroscience very interesting and I was glad to get a chance to introduce those topics to non-scientific audience through famelab.

Ramy Kotb, a Faculty of Engineering student-Alexandria University, won first place in Famelab Egypt.
Ramy Kotb, a Faculty of Engineering student-Alexandria University, won first place in Famelab Egypt.
Kotb was picked out of 10 finalists who made it to the finals among 250 participating young people. He will represent Egypt in the FameLab International finals at The Times Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK. He will be up against winners from 19 other participating countries including the UK.
Kotb dazzled the audience with his 3-minute presentation on the benefits and hazards of the microwave radiation.

23 years old, Student at City University of London Aeronautical Engineering Department, started his undergraduate degree at the Mechanical Department Faculty Engineering Alexandria University.
Awarded as National Winner of Famelab Egypt Competition and 3rd place winner at the Famelab International Competition 2011, also awarded as 1st place winner for his innovative group project.
Worked as System engineer and project planner for safety assistant project and systems.

I study Pharmaceutical sciences in Alexandria University. I have been always passionate about science and fascinated by the idea; how science can give us the ability to make the best of our world. When I heard about Famelab competition I found it a great opportunity to share my passion for science. I have also participated in many scientific activities like being the head of "Nanotechnology club" in our faculty and being an active member in United Nations Environment Program "UNEP".
FameLab Egypt Winner Chosen
Mahmoud Abu Khedr, a third-year mechanical engineering student at the University of Alexandria. has won this years final of FameLab Egypt.
The national science competition Famelab Egypt announced its 2011 winner, who will represent the country in the international version of the contest.
Famelab, a competition that began in the UK in 2005 and spread to other countries, examines a candidate’s ability to communicate scientific subjects to a non-specialized audience in a way that is scientific but still simple and interesting. Judges chose a winner March 26 after hearing presentations from 12 finalists.
